Owens Corning Large Logo

Merging in 1935, Corning Glass and Owens Illinois came together in order to manufacture glass fiber. They changed their name to Owens-Corning Fiberglass Corporation in 1938 and purchased the Lloyd Fry Roofing Company and Trumbull Asphalt in 1977. The company used their newly acquired facilities to produce Fiberglas mat-based shingles. In 1993, Owens Corning made the decision to produce nothing but residential roofing products.

Owens Corning Reviews

Far and wide, consumers tend to find that Owens Corning shingles provide durability and quality time and time again. Reviewers boast of the heat and humidity resistance that these shingles have to offer, as well as the added value of Owens Corning’s SureNail technology. However, while customers do seem to love the quality of the brand, they do point out that the shingles come at a higher cost than those of some competitors. There are also some that enjoy the mid- and high-end shingles from the company, but find the entry level shingles to be too thin. It is important that you do your homework before deciding on which line and style of Owens Corning shingle to choose, and to thoroughly check all customer reviews.
